A
History - In the spring of 1958, the North Central
District, under the direction of Rev. S. G. Norris and Rev. W.
C. Gleason, purchased land for a place to hold camp meetings.
Originally, there was a 2-bedroom house, a garage, a barn, and
a chicken coop. The girl campers slept in the house and the
boys slept in the barn. The chicken coop was used for storage.
Between Camp and the LaChapelle's were trails that were
nicknamed Snow White Land because they were so well kept up.
Camp Galilee was selected as the name, and Louise Sabin wrote
a beautiful theme song, which is still sung every year. Over
the years there has been constant growth, and many buildings
have been constructed. God has shown his power at Camp Galilee
camp meetings. To God be the glory!
